Within 6 months Vilnius International Airport handled 756 896 passengers, that is 14,8 per cent more than compared to the same period last year (659 178 passengers). So the passenger flow growth of this half -year exceeds all previous year growth (13,2). A bit less, but also increasing traffic at the airport: during six months - 15 410 ( 8,2 per cent rise compared to the same period last year).

In June airport handled 174 613 passengers (the maximum per month starting from January 2007), that is 12 per cent more compared to the same period last year (155 901 passengers). The traffic is also increasing, during June - 2 988 flights were performed, i.e. 6,8 per cent more compared to the same period last year (2 796). The construction of the new terminal (17 thousand square metres) are rapidly growing. Currently decoration works and installation of communication nets are in progress. The mounting of equipment also started.

As it was planned, the new passenger terminal shall start operating from 19 October according to the requirements of Schengen. When the new terminal opens Vilnius International Airport shall be able to handle up to 3 million passengers per year. This year airport plans to handle 1,6-1,7 million passengers.
