SUNRISE TECHNOLOGY VALLEY IN VILNIUS

Investments: Up to € 55 mln. for Sunrise Valley science and technology park and business incubator development; up to € 194 mln. for Vilnius university (VU) and Vilnius Gediminas technical university (VGTU) R&D and studies infrastructure development.

Objectives of the project: To offer high quality land plots and buildings in integrated science, studies and business centre (shorter version – Sunrise technology Valley) suitable for the development of high technology companies, world class R&D as well as to create modern infrastructure for professional services to support entrepreneurship and innovation development (including business incubation, financing of risk capital funds, transfer and commercialization of technologies, promotion of entrepreneurship, etc.).

Geographical location: Prestigious district of Vilnius is already fully integrated into the city life and represents dynamic, multifunctional and green environment. 5 km from the city centre and 12 km from the airport in the immediate neighborhood to the laboratories, research centers, institutes and auditoriums of two biggest Vilnius universities – VU and VGTU.

Legal status of the property: The land is owned by the universities and the public company Saulėtekio slėnis (Sunrise Valley) on a gratuitous lease basis.

Infrastructure status: Excellent public transportation system, large reserve of existing engineering infrastructure. Leisure, sport, conference and commercial facilities under development.

Territorial use: Public.

Territorial area: Total area of Sunrise technology Valley – 156 ha. 2.4 ha (land plots of 0.6 and 1.8 ha) allocated for the development of science and technology park, including business incubator, technology demonstration and testing center (responsible – public company Sunrise Valley).

Building potential: 2.4 ha – 80 % density of build up. In the rest of the territory – as it is specified in the approved detailed plans.

Permitted height: 2.4 ha – up to 8-10 storey. In the rest of the territory – up to 13 storey.

Total area of buildings: 2.4 ha – up to 50,000 sq. m for the premises of the Sunrise Valley science and technology park. In the rest of the territory – up to 500,000 sq. m.

Construction periods of science and technology park: First stage – 2007–2008 (6,300 sq. m); second stage – 2009–2011 (7,700 sq. m); third stage – 2010–2013 (40,000 sq. m).
